I welcome applications at any time, and I answer all of them (except the generic ones sent all over the net). We typically hire one or two PhD students or postdocs every year, as well as a few master students for internships.
Who we are looking for. If you find our research interesting and have a good background in theoretical physics (condensed matter, quantum physics, statistical physics) or in applied mathematics, and you enjoy programming, please drop me a line. Much of our work is numerical, strongly interlinked with theory, and often ends up in open-source software, so a taste for both is a real plus.
How to apply. Send an email to xavier.waintal@cea.fr with a CV, a short description of what you would like to work on and why, and the names of one or two people who can recommend you. For a PhD, a master’s transcript helps.
Where. The group is part of the PHELIQS laboratory (CEA and Université Grenoble Alpes), on the scientific campus of Grenoble, in the French Alps. We are embedded in an experimental lab and many of our projects are done with experimental colleagues.
